Tip - 7/5/05 - Get your nursing business noticed!
Get your name and your nursing business' name out where it can be seen. You can't attract business quietly sitting in your office waiting for the telephone to ring. You need to get noticed. One way to get yourself and your nursing business noticed is to write and distribute articles. Places that might be willing to accept your articles and which might bring you the attention you need would be your local newspapers, professional magazines, professional newsletter web sites geared for your target market, and any other place that you think your target market might be reading articles. You can also write press releases related to specific business events. This might include opening your nursing business, starting a new product line, anniversary of your business, joint ventures, a specific date that is related to your business such as National Nurses Day, or any other noteworthy occurrence. Send press releases regularly. Even if your press releases aren't published right away, they may be filed away until a reporter needs a quote from someone with your expertise. If you're a member, send us your press release and we'll post it in our Member Press department. Be sure to include your contact information when sending out articles or press releases. While you're at it, be sure to include your contact information and a catchy line about your services in the signature block on every email that you send or reply to. This is an inexpensive way to get noticed and you never know who might know someone who needs your services. So get started now to write an article, press release or both. You should also begin immediately to include your contact information in the signature block on all your emails.
