Bioterrorism Preparedness: An emerging nurse entrepreneur specialty field
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has continued to focus on the threat of bioterrorism to national security. Bioterrorism is not only a national concern, it is also a concern for states, cities and even companies. Each entity should have its own bioterrorism preparedness plan. Nurses have been seeking out training in bioterrorism and preparedness planning. As a result of this training, they are excellently positioned to assist companies and government agencies in many aspects of bioterrorism preparedness. These nurses can use their training to assist with emergency management planning, bioterrorism response planning, developing response algorithms, preparedness drills and exercises, and preparedness plan coordination between local companies, local health care providers and public health agencies.
