Your first step is not to set up your legal entity!
LeaRae Keyes, RN

I've recently had several nurses contact me to ask about setting up their legal entity for their business. However, many of these nurses have not been ready to set up their legal structure. Before you worry about setting up your legal entity you need answers to some basic questions.

  • Who will buy from you?
  • Why will they buy from you?
  • What makes you different from your competitors?
  • What benefits do your customers receive by buying from you?
  • Do your potential customers require proposals?
  • What time of year do they accept proposals?
  • Where can you find your customers?
  • How will you finance your start-up?
  • How will you reach your target market?

This is all information you will need to know to be able to complete your business plan. You will also need this information to know if you have a viable business idea. You need to know if your business is likely to survive and thrive before you ever set up your legal entity.
