A bit of planning will reap great results!
Nurse entrepreneurs typically have multiple things going all at one time. Do you find yourself getting brilliant ideas throughout the day and find yourself changing directions and pursing the latest great idea you had? If so, you are not alone. Most entrepreneurs find it had to stay focused. This tendency is actually one of the characteristics of an entrepreneur. However, by giving in to this urge you sabotage your success. Take a few minutes to think about your goals. What do you want to get done this month, this quarter and this year? Focusing on your long term goals will actually help you plan your day. Plan your next day's top priorities before you end your work day. You will do best to focus on 3 - 7 action items. I find that because I often have interruptions and things that occur during the day that I am not able to plan that 3 action items work best for me. Why would you plan at the end of your day instead of at the beginning of your work day? While you can do your planning at the beginning of your day, planning the night before works best for most people. That way your brain and subconscious can begin to focus on your action items before you consciously focus on them. Since you have already determined your long term goals, you can now evaluate your action items to see if they will get you closer to your goals. If not, consider why you are planning this action into your daily to-do-list.
