Is nursepreneuring for you? Or, how not to get rich!
You aren't going to get rich working as a nurse for someone else. Working hard for someone else is not a way to realize your dreams. Is your current path going to set you up well for your retirement? Self employment is not a get rich quickly scheme. Self employment requires a lot of hard work to be successful. However, would you rather be working hard for yourself or working hard for someone else? When you are self employed you have greater control over your income, retirement plan, work load, job security and your schedule. Most people seek self employment for the independence and flexibility it offers rather than increased earnings. To be self employed you will need to decide what you can sell to a hungry market. Your next step will be to decide what you will need to do to be able to offer that product or service to the hungry market you have identified. Once you have identified what you need to do, then do it. A nursepreneur (self employed nurse) needs to focus her energy to be able to see the possibilities, create options, and then have the determination to persevere to get the job done. Self employed nurses are more likely to create wealth and independence than those who are employees working for an employer. What are your dreams of self employment? What step can you take to assess if this will become your dream job? Need help thinking about nurse entrepreneur opportunities?
