I'm so excited! I've anxiously been awaiting MemberGate.com's latest software additions for the Nurse Entrepreneur Network. One of the additions I'm most excited about is the new social networking feature, Member Profiles (this will replace our old Member Profiles). We just added it to the site.

If you've been reading my tips you know that I am a real believer in the benefits of social networking. Social networking can help you get answers to questions in a way that hasn't been possible in the past. You can learn what potential customers and peers are really thinking. This can be very beneficial for nurse entrepreneurs who often feel as though they are working in isolation.

Social networks can also help to connect people in a way that has not been possible in the past. You can see people who are connected to your connections and ask for an introduction. You can ask people in your network who they might know at ABC company and ask for an introduction.

The synchronicity that is created by social networking is unlike any other form of networking for prompt sharing of ideas that build upon each other. Reserved people who might not typically share their ideas in a face-to-face meeting will often contribute in an online discussion. This makes social networking a potentially richer experience that face-to-face communication.
