Offering incentives to your first time customers can help you increase your number of customers. Offering incentives is a great technique in any market, but it is even more important in a down market. An incentive can help tip your prospect from a potential customer to a current customer.

Offering incentives can also be beneficial in keeping long term customers. That incentive would be designed to reward your customers for their long term patronage.

An example of these would be the free downloads that are offered by the Nurse Entrepreneur Network when someone signs up to be on the weekly tip list. An example of the long term incentive is that members are able to renew at the price in effect when they joined the Nurse Entrepreneur Network. Periodically the price is increased at the Nurse Entrepreneur Network but the price increase is not passed on to those who began at a lower price and who have maintained their membership.

Incentives can be a great way to help customers make the decision to do business with you and to reward those who have stayed with you over time.
