Permission Marketing: What It Is And How To Use It

There was a recent post in the Nurse Entrepreneur Network discussion forum about permission marketing. Permission marketing is a term that was first used consistently by Seth Godin. This term primarily refers to marketing done on the internet.

You do not want to be seen as a spammer on the internet. Spammers are people who send unsolicited marketing emails. You will certainly not make a favorable impression on your customers and potential customers by sending unsolicited email messages. Sending unsolicited and unwelcome emails is also a great way to get banned on the internet. Once you are banned you will not be able to send emails to many people who actually want to hear from you.

People are much more receptive to messages that come from sources they have given permission to send them emails. You have certainly heard me talk about people buying from business owners they know, like and trust. Permission marketing is vital in this process of helping people to get to know, like, and trust you. Violating this rule can result in your customers and potential customers never reading another message from you again.

To learn more about this topic and how to get your customers and potential customers to give you permission to send them email messages, even those email messages that contain sales material, go to the discussion forum and read what has been posted.
