Your Nurse Entrepreneur Call to Action
LeaRae Keyes, RN

It is important to include a call to action with your marketing material. I have stated this before. However, it has occurred to me that you may not know how to how to create a call to action or understand what it is.

A call to action is a request that you make to your nurse entrepreneur customers or potential customers. In your call to action you tell your audience what it is that they should do, how they should do it, and when they should do it.

The following are a couple examples of calls to action:

  • Go now to www.nurse-entrepreneur-network.com and sign up for our weekly tip in the upper right corner on the website.
  • If you offer services for family caregivers, go to www.familycaregiverassistance by May 15, 2010 and sign up by clicking on the "Join Today" box in the upper left corner of the website. Be sure to indicate if you are a caregiver or a vendor (someone who has services to offer to family caregivers or persons needing care).

Notice that the second example attempts to create a sense of urgency to complete the action by a certain date.

You do not want to leave your customers and potential customers guessing about the action they need to take. Be specific and spell it out for them.
