Try, try again!
LeaRae Keyes, RN

You've likely heard the proverb "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again". Rarely does something turn out on the first try. Failures provide us with clues to what will not work. You should not be afraid of failure, only of giving up.

"One fails forward toward success". -- Charles F. Kettering, engineer and inventor

How does this relate to your business? It's critical to keep trying when you are faced with challenges and obstacles. However, it is also just as important to try a different technique. You can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

If you repeatedly leave the same voice mail in an attempt to get the decision maker to call you back you are only kidding yourself. Change up the message to try to get a different result or use a different medium such as a post card.

It is also important to remember that the same method will not work with every prospect. While a telephone call or voice mail may work well with one person in your target market it won't necessary work with the next person. Using the same method over and over again will also not differentiate you from your competition. Be a little creative.

It's vitally important that you modify your approach or change your strategy on a regular basis. This is particularly critical in today's challenging market!

Your goal will be to keep your name in front of your prospect in creative and interesting ways. This will require using different strategies and techniques to get the attention of your prospect. You can use email, telephone calls, voice messages, postcards, trade shows, webinars, social media, and more to get your message out and in front of your prospect.

Just keep trying!
