Setting Insane Goals
LeaRae Keyes, RN

Why would anyone choose to set insane goals? At one time this idea would have completely escaped me. I like to set goals that I can achieve and then check them off. However, there is another way of thinking about goals.

What if you set an insanely, audacious goal? What if you only got halfway there? Would that be failure?

What if your goal was to generate $40,000 per month in revenue and you were only able to generate $20,000 per month? Would that be failure? Not in my book!

Do you think you would have gotten to $20,000 per month if $40,000 per month had not been your goal? Perhaps. However, having an audaciously huge goal causes you to think differently. It makes your subconscious work on the problem even when you aren't consciously focused on it. You have to stretch your mind to think BIGGER than you would normally think.

Having a HUGE goal also makes you more productive. You have to be focused and not waste time. You have to make every minute count. Nurse entrepreneurs may often find themselves not using their time effectively because there is no imposed structure. Having big goals requires structure.

Doesn't just thinking about this make you excited? What big goals can you set for yourself for the rest of this calendar year?
